I enjoy looking into the sky at night,
it fills me with sadness, it fills me with fright.
Look at that star, shining so bright
Looking down, looking around,
all the same, that old ground.
I pick up some glass, a piece that I found
A bright reflection can be seen,
bouncing off that perfect sheen.
It comes from above; backwards I lean
That star again, it seems to have grown,
that seems odd; it chills my bone.
Things that scare me are things unknown
I blink, again, it is bigger, or is it nearer?
The details, the flames, so much clearer.
At a time like this, life seems dearer
It is heading for me, that great ball of fire,
I wish it werent, I wish it were higher.
The situation has become something dire
An urge to run, an urge to flee,
feelings of terror, begin to grip me.
It burns out my eyes, I cannot see
My legs give way, I hit the floor,
I feel the heat, it burns my core.
A sound is heard, a distant roar
An agonising wait, filled with pain,
nothing can be done, theres nothing to gain.
Any attempt to escape is certainly in vain
My body burns, it feels strangely numb,
my life is over, I should feel glum.
I feel only hate, the apocalypse has come
